Ni de Shrek, ni de Smash Mouth

¡Estos muchachitos de hoy tienen tantas herramientas para aprender! Con el Internet y una buena dosis de curiosidad... "averiguan lo que no se les ha perdido" como decía Mami. Así que sepan, nietos de mi esposo e hijos de mis hijos; sepan que muchas canciones y hasta películas que ven hoy como nuevas, son recicladas. Por eso hay versiones nuevas de Romeo & Julieta, además de las mil versiones de Cleopatra.

“I’m a Believer”, la canción “de” Shrek -el ente verde del pantano asqueroso que se limpia la cerilla de los oídos- no es ni de Shrek, ni de Smash Mouth (los interpretes de la película.

Por ser Shrek una de las "pelípulas fagoritas" de los hijos desentrañados de mis entrañas, aprovecho para darles la lección.

“I’m a Believer”, se remonta al 1966, cuando la dieron a conocer por primera vez The Monkees; una banda de rock que le destrozaba los tímpanos a los padres de adolescentes de aquella época, y que a su abuelo y a mí nos gustaba. Por eso se la regalo como Canción de Domingo.
